Risk and Quality Management

Imaging Queensland strives to achieve a culture of continuous improvement in the quality of all its processes and services.
The RiskMan Management System which Imaging Queensland has adopted in all facets of its business is to ensure that quality is consistently achieved in accordance with AS/NZS ISO 9001: 2015 and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards in Healthcare, Stage II in the Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists standards of Practice for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and the Queensland Health Clinical Services Capability Framework.

Risk & Quality Management

The Company’s Risk and Quality Manager is responsible for the quality of care and service provided within the Company’s Radiology practices. By ensuring each practice meets the high standards to maintain full accreditation under the:

➢ AS/NZS ISO 9001: 2015.
➢ National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards in Healthcare.
➢ Stage II in the Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme.
They are also responsible for the development and fostering of a quality conscious culture within the company and for the provision of resources for its implementation and support. In its endeavour to enhance good governance practices, Imaging Queensland’s Board of Directors has established, in accordance with the ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations. The Risk and Quality Manager is also the chair person that oversees the Risk & Quality as well as the Accreditation & Safety Committees.

Risk & Quality Committee:

The Risk & Quality committee is responsible for reviewing the effectiveness of the Risk Management Framework, including the company’s risk management, internal compliance and control policies and procedures, in identifying and managing risks and controlling internal processes.
In addition, the Risk & Quality Committee assists the Executive Management and Board of Directors in its responsibilities in relation to quality of care within the IQ Group. The committee ensures an integrated and coordinated approach to the management and development of quality Radiology services and patient experience.

The Risk & Quality Improvement Committee operates under ISO 9001: 2015 standards and is authorised to resolve any quality system problems occurring including:
➢ Overall control of quality documentation.
➢ Ensuring that the quality system is established implemented and maintained in accordance with ISO 9001: 2015 and the Core Standards for Safety & Quality in Healthcare.
➢ Verifying that the quality system is properly implemented on all projects.
➢ Co-ordination of quality control.
➢ Education and support to all employees within the company.
➢ Reporting risks to the executive management and Board of Directors.

Accreditation & Safety Committee

The Accreditation & Safety Committee is responsible for oversight of the Company’s accreditation programs and continuous quality improvement systems, occupational health and safety policies and the review of clinical and infection control procedures. The Committee also oversees the process designed to verify the credentials of Radiologists and other reporting practitioners.
The role of this Committee is to review each regional operational performance of each practice within the region within the group on a range of key performance indicators.

Responsibility of All Staff

Every staff member contributes to the overall quality of care and service provision and therefore is expected to participate in the Quality Management Program. Quality of performance and service provision is the responsibility of every staff member at Imaging Queensland.
